This is a 3-part training programme to prepare and support new maths leaders in the development of their leadership skills to enable them to fulfill their role effectively. There will be gap tasks each time and maths leaders will have the chance to feedback and discuss outcomes in future meetings.
- Use of hard and soft data to support focussed action planning.
- Assessment and moderation – knowing year group expectations and how to reach them.
- Monitoring cycle – effective ways to monitor, what to look for and how to feedback to staff and senior leaders, including governors.
- Identifying and devising training and support needs in school.
- Evaluation process and next steps – for school and for the maths leader.
